What do we do?

Brighten people's days.

Fishing holds a unique magic in its ability to brighten the days of those facing adversity. For those less fortunate, a simple day on the water offers a respite from life's challenges - and a chance to connect with nature's calming rhythm.

Simply put, a day on the water can change everything. Casting a line becomes a beacon of hope for those less fortunate, and Future Captains is proud to help create cherished memories and spurn a renewed sense of possibility for those who need it most.

Inspire our community's youth.

One of the key goals of Future Captains is to offer opportunities to underprivileged teens and youth in the Tampa Bay area to get out on the water and experience all that their beautiful backyard has to offer.

A day with Future Captains is far more than a day spent fishing - it's an opportunity for kids to learn, laugh, smile, and ignite a lifelong passion.

Honor our veterans.

Future Captains is proud to offer veterans free chartered fishing trips on and around the beautiful Tampa Bay area. Our excursions not only rekindle a sense of camaraderie and purpose, but also serve as a powerful tool for healing and reintegration.

Our aim is to provide veterans with a fun, memorable day on the water where they can find solace, happiness, and genuine joy.

How Future Captains works

Future Captains is a 100% non-profit organization that offers free chartered fishing trips to individuals and groups within our network of organizations and charity partners. We are a donation-based organization that operates thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and partners.

Each and every one of our trips is operated by a fully licensed and insured USCG Boat Captain. Safety is our utmost priority, and we ensure that every vessel we operate is in conjuction with USCG-required safety mandates.

The mission of Future Captains is to use the challenge, excitement, and adventure of fishing to inspire newfound passions and uplift the spirits of those who need it most. Our days are filled with smiles, laughter, and a whole lot of fun and excitement - and we are honored and privileged to share these experiences with those who may not get many opportunites to experience a beautiful day on the water.

I am truly proud to be a Future Captains fishing guide. The trips I've taken with kids and veterans are have been some of the most fun, most memorable, and most fulfilling I've had on Tampa Bay.

T. Monroe, St. Petersburg Youth Activities Coordinator

Seeing some of these kid's smiles and faces being on the water and catching their first fish, words really can't describe the joy it gives me. Future Captains is a true inspiration for the Pinellas County community.
